2 days: Palamos, Begur, Sant Feliu

Highlights of the Costa Brava

A 2 day route allows the possibility to venture further up north-east along the Costa Brava. Spending a night in Palamos, a historic fishermen village that is home to some of the best seafood in Spain, the voyage will send us along to the "Empordanet"area of the coast, which features some of the most intimate and beautiful coves. Moving on, we will have the deliciously charming villages of Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc on our port side, which very organically fit into the idyllic coastline. Next we sail on to the area around Begur, featuring dramatic rocky cliffs and pristine small beaches and coves. There are plenty of amazing swimming a spots along the way.

This itinerary implies significant time motoring, covering quite a large distance every day. Fuel costs will be higher than on shorter routes, and there can be bigger waves than in Maresme area. The most scenic spots can be busy, and the choice of anchoring locations needs to be adjusted to the marine traffic and sea conditions. Having said all that, this journey is one to never forget in terms of beauty and enjoyment.

A likely itinerary to this area would be:

Day 1: Arenys de Mar - Tossa de Mar - Cala Pola - Cala Giverola - Sant Feliu - Palamos
Day 2: Palamos - Llafranc - Calella de Palafrugell - Begur - Tossa de Mar - Arenys de Mar

This itinerary provides interesting gastronomic destinations. We are happy to provide advice and help with reservations at fine restaurants. Club Nautic Costa Brava allows easy access to Palamos town by foot. Mooring fees are around 40 Euros for the night.
